The government introduced the legislative changes to the Verkhovna Rada that threaten the freedom of the Internet and which were harshly criticized by the experts.

Last week, Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman has sent a draft law #4629 to parliament on copyright and related rights on the Internet. The authors of the document noted that the amount of illegal content circulated on the Internet is growing. In addition, in Ukraine there is no quick and effective way to remove illegal content, and the responsibility for copyright and related rights infringement on the Internet is much more difficult.

According to Dima Gadomsky, the mentioned document does not take into account of Ukrainian business, therefore, it conflicts with national interests. The text of the law filled out the obligations of hosting providers and site owners to meet the requirements of owners. “It is obvious that all market participants are against to this approach,” – Axon Partners CEO said.
