For some of our clients, we set up a legal team (for SEO optimization, we need to write “dedicated legal team”, sorry). So, this time we are looking for two lawyers to work for an IT company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). We will reveal the name of the client at the final interview.
For the first 6 months, you will work at Axon on the tasks of this one client, and this is what it looks like. These six months will be something like a trial period, after which the client will most likely take you on.
What to do:
– Be meticulous, inquisitive, and critical of any client’s questions, even small ones;
– communicate with the client’s in-house lawyers and middle management in a friendly, quick, and convincing manner;
– know how IT business works, as well as how business in general works in Ukraine and Western Europe;
– have a good understanding of national corporate law, labor law, and personal data protection, be able to distinguish important contractual terms from legal bullshit, and not be afraid to dive into tax legislation;
– keep abreast of changes in regulations and understand how this affects the client and its people;
– understand memes at the level necessary to maintain a good small talk with colleagues in the slack;
– correspond with government agencies from time to time.
What are the requirements:
– 3 to 5 years of work experience;
– at least 1 year of which should have been spent in the Big Four, legal consulting (we consider mainly Legal500 companies), or in-house at an IT/telecom company;
– English is not lower than ‘upper intermediate’ – it will be needed for superficial and in-depth research of the legislation of other countries, as well as correspondence, negotiations, and writing consultations;
– English-Ukrainian office slang and the parasitic word “kinda” are not welcome, but what the heck;
– Love for law and the legal profession, and this is not a joke.
We will accept two lawyers, one of whom may have a little less experience and a slightly lower level of English, and the other, respectively, a slightly higher level. Therefore, in the application form, please indicate whether you consider yourself to be less senior or more junior.

– you do not distinguish between law and legislation, but you see differences between legislation and current legislation; you believe in Harry Potter, but you do not believe in П-6 і П-7;
– you have not opened the Civil Code for a long time. It’s been so long that you can’t spontaneously name 12 key conflicts between the Civil Code and the Commercial Code during an interview;
– your English level is actually much lower than we ask. No, you won’t be able to learn/relearn/improve it quickly in the course of work.
