June 25, Kharkiv IT Cluster hosted a mini-conference “IT Legal Talk”. It’s already the third event focused on the legal aspects of IT business. This time, the topic was centered on contracting with customers. Oksana Kochkodan, Axon Partners, was among legal experts who addressed the public. Oksana endeavored to communicate the idea to the participants that the values of agile methods can be efficiently implemented in agile contracts. “If the team of developers is using agile methods, then standard software development contracting isn’t the most brilliant solution here. The standard contract cannot protect developers against customers’ pussyfooting and second thoughts, and won’t protect customers from misinterpretation. That’s why those IT lawyers are real jewels, who are able to tell apart agile contracts from non-agile-friendly contracts, including terms and conditions to set forth, customers’ engagement, flexibility of stages, and understand why responsibility is pure evil”, – said Oksana Kochkodan, Associate, Axon Partners.
